Believe it or not, the idea for this piece was initially to be a "wearable carving" type pendant. It evolved quite quickly into a full-fledged sculpture, which I worked on off-and-on for about two years in the early days of my carving career. The dragon itself is made of Blue Ice Nephrite, the blade is grossular garnet, and the base is a vulcan nephrite. All of these materials were harvested from Bull Trout Jade's claims in Western Washington.
